Lodestar Pumpkin Sour
Ingredients
1 oz Lodestar Whiskey
1 oz Fumus Pumila (Mezcal works too!)
2 Bar spoons unsweetened pumpkin puree
1 Egg white
3/4 oz Mulling spice simple syrup (see recipe below)
1 oz Fresh lemon juice
6 Drops 80/20 saline solution (optional)
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice) for 15 seconds. Add ice and shake again for 10-15 seconds. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with ground cinnamon.
Mulling Spice Simple Syrup
0.5 cup White Sugar
0.5 cup Water
4-5 Whole Cloves
1-2 Star Anise Pods
3-4 All Spice Berries
2 inch Piece of Fresh Ginger (sliced)
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Slice of Fresh Orange Peel
*Makes roughly 6-7 oz of simple syrup
Simple Syrup Instructions
Place all simple syrup ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 mins. Allow simple syrup to cool completely. Strain before use. Can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a month.
